IN THE LIVING ROOM.
I'm sitting on the couch, watching elf, and writing to the three of my beautiful followers. It's like a christmas miracle. A really beautiful christmas miracle.
Ohhhh Christmas. As much as I love it, it always has the potential to be somewhat emotionally scarring, and I have to admit that I'm frequently rather relieved once it's over. The guilt of all the money spent, the stress of getting up to maine before two, the food to cook, the presents to wrap. It's all a little too much activity for me. I'm happy to say that it is over.
Tomorrow, however, is Kwanzaa. It's a holiday I know little about, so maybe tomorrow I'll look it up and post about the to-do over Kwanzaa.
On a more positive note, this was a particularly lovely christmas, aside from the discussion about my virginity {as my parents gave me a purity ring for christmas} and my intense irritability. I love my family and nothing traumatic happened {its the little things in life}. And of course there was the added joy of WIFI.
Oh, did I already mention that? My bad.
And my mom got me that trunk that I have some intense renovation plans for, which I'm completely pumped for.
So Happy Christmas! Here are some of my joys1

Oh, hey there.
Oh, hey. It's been a while. Its been a week of lounging around and sleeping until noon, watching tv when I don't really care to. Perusing on facebook when I'd really rather not. Ironic? maybe not ironic.
Well christmas is in full swing here in the richardson household. My mom's got us all as her slaves, putting us right to work constructing centerpieces and christmas ornaments, cooking and baking and babysitting so she can deliver her hand constructed yule tide things.
And I'm stressing because the brilliant idea that I had for my mom for christmas is coming to naught, and I have no other ideas. And christmas is in two days. So I'm having trouble breathing. Wish me luck, I'm going to find another idea.

Christmastime is here
Liz and I traveled to target this evening for the discounted halloween candy, and were greeted by the lights and colors of Christmastime!
And more importantly, the excitement of Hanukkah!
This is liz enjoying the beautiful display of holiday wrapping paper. It was a touching moment for all the onlookers.
This is a portrait of our dearly valued hanukkah mugs which we very much intend to enjoy whilst elfing it up this evening.

In this photo you'll see Liz thoroughly enjoying the
music video for Dominic the Italian Christmas Donkey.
Liz is a bit eccentric and has a thing for animals making
faces that are similar to those she makes and thus
found this music video VERY entertaining.
I sat there watching her laugh herself to tears
Over this music video.
Over all, a fairly entertaining evening.
Tis the season! {almost}
And Liz and I are celebrating with facials and Elf!
Last christmas season, we watched this movie just about as often as we watched Friends all the rest of the year. It was constantly on. We memorized the dialogue, the soundtrack, even the end credits! {Well, not really the end credits, we always stopped the movie and restarted it at that point}
I love elf.
These Nights
Its been a few weeks now that I've had trouble sleeping. Every night, it seems, I go to bed, exhausted and ready just to sleep. Then I toss and turn for hours before I finally fall asleep, and when I do, I sleep for a few hours and wake up with some sort of terrible nightmare. Such has been the cycle of sleep for me. I'm not sure whats going on with me. I just know that I have to figure out how to cope with this. It's exhausting.
On another note, it is now november first! 55 days until christmas everyone, and only one month until ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas, a very exciting time of the year. Three weeks until thanksgiving, 12 days until I get to go home for the weekend. So many things to look forward to. However, I first need to get through this week. An essay in spanish, journals in sociology, and I haven't even looked at the syllabus for Nobel Lit. It'll be a week full of work, which is something that I can't say I've done much of this semester. I may actually benefit from dousing myself in work, holing up in the library. i need to find my self discipline, my determination, my motivation. I need to remember what made me run before I became so lazy. I need to kick this laziness.
Also, if anyone happens to read this, I would ask for your prayer requests right now. I haven't had nightmares like this since I was a child. I'm not sure what has brought them on, though I suspect the self exposure to horror movies may have contributed to that (this is exactly what I mean when I speak of self discipline). I'm also just meandering on the brink of failure, I believe, too. Sleeping all the time, missing classes, procrastinating, taking things too personally, and questioning the choices I've made. Prayer would be greatly appreciated.
I hope you all have an easier time of getting to sleep than I have and than I most likely will tonight. Enjoy the beginning of an entirely new month!
